The Wrinkles Of The City, Los Angeles by JR (Video)

Truly, a documentary that celebrates wrinkles, saggy skin and unruly body hair has got to be a shocking first, especially in an age where the skin of a 20 year-old model is digitally reduced to the quality of printing paper before being released to the public. Of course, when you discover photographer/street artist JR is responsible, it makes more sense: wrinkles, pores, and follicles blown up to the size of potholes is part of what has made him one of the best street artists of his generation. Even more interesting is that Wrinkles Of The City is set in Los Angeles, where ageing is attacked with an arsenal of injections, suction hoses, massages, peels and lasers, like some kind of terrible disease. But as Wrinkles Of The City attempts to explain, everbody has a story, and wrinkles are the storytellers.

We're proud to say JR is a Frank contributor from way back. See from his point of view as he shoots the rooftops in Chapter 27: France.
