DJ Premier Guru Tribute Mix (Free Download/Stream)

Tributes have been flung around like wildfire. Mr. Cee set it off with his Hot 97 Guru tribute, then Matthew Africa threw one out there, along with Statik Selektah's and hundreds of other djs dedicated their nights and sets to the man who pioneered a style of rapping that has never been duplicated, all while focusing on social issues that come straight from the heart of America's urban youth.

For us though, we were just waiting for DJ Premier's tribute. We knew Preem would come with something extra. Obviously he has the joints no one else has, but he was also bound to speak on things that we want to hear about with regards to Guru. There's been a lot of talk about Guru's relationship with his producer Solar, and why it seemed that Solar was the only one in control of decisions that were made about Guru, and Guru's own family seemed at odds with the producer. Then there was the letter that Guru is said to have wrote on his deathbed that general consensus says did not actually come from Guru. In the below tribute, Primo speaks on this, speaks with the Gang Starr foundation members, and plays a ton of joints in memory of Keith Elam AKA Guru.
